Athens, Greece

Our first full day in Greece was a lot better than the day before We got up really early in the morning (5am). We couldn’t go down and eat breakfast until 7, so we just chilled in our room. After eating breakfast we headed out into Athens to see the sights. We headed to the Acropolis on a bus and found it. It is amazing. All of the buildings that are there and the buildings are so old. They are doing a lot of construction on the buildings, restoring them so there was a lot of scaffolding there. There are a lot of ruins all around in downtown Athens. We walked a lot, all around the sites. We saw Zeus’s temple, the Acropolis, Hadrian’s Arch, and lots of other ruins around that area. They are amazing. We don’t really have anything like that in the United States. We also saw the Olympic stadium where every Olympics the torch leaves from there to the city where the Olympics are being held. We found a souvenir for us from Athens. In the evening we asked the desk clerk if there was a good cheap place to eat and she told us of a place across the street. It was right next to the place where we paid 47 euro the night before to eat and only got a fish and some bread and water. For dinner tonight we spent about 5 euro, got enough food to fill us up, and it was really good. I wish we had known about that place the day before. We were tired so we went to bed early again, although not quite so early. It's crazy that we walked among the Greeks!
