Kusadasi, Turkey
Today we were in Kusadasi, Turkey. When we got off the ship we took a bus to Ephesus. Ephesus is the city where John preached and he supposedly took Mary there after Jesus died. When we got off the bus we had to take a cab to Ephesus. We shared it with another couple and negotiated a price of 10 euro to take us to Mary's house and then to the entrance of Ephesus. Well, a different cab driver took us up, but only to the entrance of Ephesus. He wouldn't take us the rest of the way to Mary's house. He said it was 10 euro just to take us to the entrance of Ephesus. We paid our half, but the people we were with really wanted to go to Mary's house (they were super Catholic). Ephesus is amazing. The ruins are amazing. When we first walked in, it didn't look like it was going to be worth the money we paid to get in, but it was a really cool city. There is so much that is still intact. The library there is such an amazing building. We walked a lot while we were there. Turkey was a pretty cool place. Many people spoke English so we were able to communicate with some people at least. After we went to Ephesus we walked around Kusadasi a little bit and then went back to the ship.
