Lagoon

Yesterday was BYU-Idaho alumni Lagoon Day. Jake's parents wanted to take his younger brother and sister to Lagoon, so we went with them. My brother-in-law, Frank, and niece, Kailey, also went with us. We had a good time there. It had been a long time since Jake or I had been to Lagoon. There are a lot of new rides. I really liked the Samurai, but no one else wanted to go on that with me. Jake and I both really liked Wicked, but we thought it was too short, especially since we had to wait in line a REALLY long time. There were a few other rides we wanted to go on, but didn't because the lines were so long. Tean after he rode the Sky Coaster. He didn't like that ride very much. He cried most of it. Tean getting ready to go on the Merry-Go-Round. Waiting for the Merry-Go-Round to start. Tean while the Merr-Go-Round was going. He loved it! Taking a little break in between rides. Enjoying Lagoon-a-Beach.

Tean Playing

Tean loves to play with about everything. Paper is probably his favorite toy. The other day he played with a receipt for about 15 minutes without getting bored with it. I gave him a bowl the other day to play with while I was fixing breakfast and he was loving it. He was trying to put it on his head, so I put it on him and he thought it was great!

Pioneer Day Celebration

Since we got home from Bear Lake fairly early on Saturday, we decided to go to the Pioneer Day Celebration that was here in Pocatello. We didn't stay very long because it was so HOT! While we were there, we saw Jake's mom and little sister, Mezi. Mezi wanted Jake to go on a blow-up toy where you have a cord hooked to you and you try to get the marker as far as you can. Since it was so hot, the toy was super hot. Jake tried to run in the little bit of shade that was on the toy, but his foot touched the part that was really hot and it got burned really bad.

Bear Lake

Last week, we went to Bear Lake with the Moon family. We went to Milisa's cabin. We had a great time. Everyone except my oldest brother and his family came. It was great that almost everyone could come. We had a great time swimming at the pool, swimming at the lake, spending time on the Jet skis (Jake threw me off while I was riding the tube in about 30 seconds), playing games, and just spending time with family. Tean liked the kiddie pool, but wasn't too keen on being in the big pool and the lake. We had a great time with family and look forward to next year!

Bathtime Fun

Tonight when I gave Tean a bath, he thought it was so funny when I splashed him with water. He usually doesn't play during bath time, he just kind of tolerates the bath, but tonight he was loving it.

McKee's Petting Zoo

Last week I took Tean to our city's "zoo." There is a real zoo in Pocatello, but you have to pay to go to it and McKee's Petting Zoo is a lot better and it's free! It's our city's pet store and they have lots of animals to see. They even had a camel, but it died a couple years ago. They have a monkey, some ostriches, emus, a yak, pigs, goats, horses, llamas, chickens, lambs, bunnies, dogs, birds, and lots of other animals. He didn't seem super interested in the animals, but I'm sure he'll love this place when he gets older. He thought the monkey was pretty funny.

4th of July

This is the first year we have been in Pocatello for the 4th of July. In the morning we decided to head to the parade. Tean loving to show off balancing on his daddy's hand Waiting for the parade to start It was a pretty cool parade for being a fairly small town. There were a lot of cool old cars that were in the parade that were driving across the country. Tean seemed to enjoy it. At least he was in a good mood during the whole parade. Afterward, we went to Jake's parent's house, where Jake helped his dad work on building his deck. I tried to take Tean swimming, but he was crying a lot and tired, so we'll just have to try another time. That evening, we were going to roast marshmellows, but it started raining like crazy. Today when we went to church there were still big piles of hail from the storm the night before. On our way home from Jake's parent's house we saw a really pretty rainbow. There was a double rainbow, but you can't really see the second rainbow in the picture I took. Luckily, the rain stopped in time for the fireworks. We went to our neighbors down the street to watch them, because they had a better view than at our house. There are too many trees at our house that block the view. The fireworks were really neat. It used to be the biggest show in Idaho, but now I guess Idaho Falls is bigger. We had a great 4th of July, celebrating the great country that we live in.

Fort Hall Fireworks

On the 3rd of July, Fort Hall had free hot dogs, drinks, an Elvis impersonator and fireworks. It was a pretty good show and not that bad of food. The fireworks were awesome, too. Tean did great there. He fell asleep before the fireworks started and slept all through them. He woke up when we were putting him in the car. We were going to buy some illegal fireworks on our way home (the perks of living close to an Indian Reservation), but Tean was getting kind of mad, so we decided to just go home. I forgot to bring our camera (I had it with me until we left), so all we have is a picture of Tean all ready to go in his car seat.
