More of Disney World

I never finished writing about our adventures in Disney World. On Thursday we went to the water park at Disney World. It was really fun. They have water roller coaster where you go down a slide and then some water shoots you up the hill. It was really fun to ride. Jake and I went on it 10 or more times. They also had a wave pool that made huge waves, bigger than the wave pool that was in my city when I was growing up. We had a lot of fun. Jake took a rest while we were there and his nieces started to bury him in the sand. Afterward we went and played video games again at the video game place. I beat Jake sometimes and he beat me sometimes in a basketball shooting game. The next day we went to MGM Studios for part of the day. We went on Towers of Terror that was really cool. Jake's bag floated in the air when we were dropping. We also saw a cool show where cars drove really fast. There's a video of it here. It was really cool. There was also a parade that we watched of all the Disney characters. MGM studios wasn't very big so when we were done with it, we went to Epcot and watched the Chinese video that was 360 degrees around us. It was pretty cool, like we were there. After we went back to the condo and chilled for the rest of the night. The next day we headed back home for the cold of Idaho. As you can see, Jake looks exhausted from our crazy week in Disney world.

Mexican Adventures 2

Well, we are still alive and well in Mexico. We spent some time in Tlapacoyan with some people that Jake taught and baptized. There was a guy that Jake baptized, who was really drunk when Jake first met him, who went on a mission and is now in the branch presidency. Jake didn't even know that he went on a mission. It was cool to see the change that came into his life because of the gospel. After Tlapacoyan, we went to Xalapa and visited some more people there. We stayed the night in Xalapa and the next day we visited two waterfalls in Xito. They were really pretty. I'll post some pictures tomorrow of the waterfall. We got to Santiago Tuxtla late on Thursday night. We are staying with a family that Jake baptized. That night that we got there, we went to a Fandango, which is a dance where they do traditional dances. It was really cool. Watching that, I felt like we were really in Mexico. These past few days we have been visiting people here in Santiago. Today we went to see a really pretty waterfall, Salto de Eyipantla. It is a huge waterfall. I guess it has been in some movies, too. We're having a great time here. Sometimes I can't believe that we are really in Mexico!

Adventures in Mexico

We are in Mexico now and we had some adventures in trying to get in the country. When we got to Laredo, we tried to get over the border, but they wouldn't let us in because it was Jake's brother's car and we didn't have the current registration for our car. Jake's brother had taken it out of the car for some reason. At first they said we had to have the real registration, no fax, but then we got a lady to say we could have his brother fax a copy and that would work. So we did that and then they told us they can only accept a faxed copy from a Mexican. So we spent $20 to recieve the fax for nothing. We had to spend the night in Laredo and then the next morning we had a brilliant idea come to us. We changed our old registration a little then made color copy of it and we were able to get across the border with that. We drove through Monterrey, MX and saw the temple there. We wanted to go, but it was on a Monday. Here's a video of us driving in Monterrey. They drive crazy there! We went to El Tajin yesterday, some cool ruins. If I get a chance, I will post them, but I might have to wait until we get home. We are having a great time!

Animal Kingdom

Our third day at Disney World, we spent in Animal Kingdom. It was really cool. We saw a bird sing "How Much Is That Doggy In The Window. We went on an African Safari and saw African animals up close. We were sprayed with bug spray and had termites crawl under us in "A Bug's Life" show. We got soaked on a raft ride. We had our rollercoaster track destroyed by the abominal snowman. We saw Disney characters in an African parade. When we were done we went out to eat with Jake's family. Alden was in town so we called him up to come with us.

Fantasy Land

So our second day at Disney World, we went to Fantasy Land, which is basically Disneyland. Since Jake's brother and sister both had kids, they wanted to go to the areas that are geared towards the little kids, so Jake and I went off and rode the big kid rides. We rode space mountain a few times and shot at targets in Buzz Lightyear's ride. After lunch we had seen everything that we wanted to see, so Jake and I headed over to Downtown Disney to go to Disney Quest. Disney Quest is a big arcade with some really cool rides. They had a Pirates of the Carribean virtual reality game where we had to shoot cannons at ships and get their treasure. We also created our own country song entitled, "My dog gets more dates than I do." We rode in bumper spaceships on a Buzz Lightyear ride where Jake drove and I shot the cannon at other spaceships. If the ball hit a certain spot the spaceship started spinning out of control. There were a lot of cool games, new and old, to play. We hooked up with Jake's family at the end of the day and had cake and ice cream for his niece's birthday.

Epcot Center

Our first day at Disney World, we decided to go to Epcot. As we entered Disney World, we realized that it is HUGE!! It's the size of Boston. Epcot was really cool and we got to see the big silver ball that Disney World is famous for. We went on a space ride that spun a lot and had lots of sharp jerks, and unfortunately Jake got motion sickness on it and threw up. We saw some cool dancing and balancing acts from China and a cool balancing act from Italy. We built our own robot and got to race them. Jake took first in the race, only a couple tenths of a second behind Joe Lopez, his brother-in-law. I tool 7th out of 10, and lost to some kids that were probably a third my age. We didn't get to see everything we wanted, but we enjoyed most everything we saw. Another day we returned to Epcot and saw the China video that is shown on a screen that's 360 degrees. That was pretty cool because it was like you were there.

Coco Beach

Jake and I went to Florida for a week with his family. One day we went to the Coco beach and had great sea food at a local restaurant. Then we went to a beach to play and comb for sea shells. We had thebeach almost all to ourselves because it was overcast and raining a bit. It was fun though because if you go to the beach in Idaho in January, you'd be ice fishing!

Sledding with 4-wheelers

We went sledding with my family the day after the Christmas party. It was a ton of fun. It was great seeing everyone and hanging out with family we hadn't seen for a while.
