Gas Prices

As gas prices continue to increase, Congress continues to blame others while ignoring practical steps to stop the pain Americans are feeling at the pump. To lower gasoline prices and reduce our dependence on foreign oil, we need real solutions to our energy challenges. Here in California, we are paying $4.15 or MORE for gas. Are you sick of the high gas prices too? Go
and sign this petition to send to Congress to authorize the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our energy on foreign energy sources so we can lower gas prices. The server has been really busy, so keep trying if it doesn't work the first time. Share with everyone you know so we can get lower gas prices!

Ice Skating

Jake and I must have missed the snow and cold in Idaho, because we decided to go ice skating last night. When we got there we were wondering why we were putting ourselves through the torture of skating. After trying two different pairs of skates, we starting getting the hang of it. Jake did really well skating and even was able to do some turns. We had fun, even though our ankles hurt. We then got ice cream to make shakes and went home and made strawberry cheesecake shakes. Yum!

San Francisco

Jake can't knock anymore until he gets fingerprinted, and he couldn't get an appointment today, so since we had a free day, we decided to head to San Francisco and spend the day there. When we were going over the bridge, we didn't have any cash to pay the toll, but we thought we could just pay with a check. Well, they ONLY take cash. No checks, no credit cards, no debit cards, just cash. There also wasn't a place to turn around, so they wrote us up a ticket that we're going to get in the mail for $30! A $4 toll turned into $30. We finally found a place to park and we went to Fisherman's Warf and looked around. We went to Ghirardelli Square and got a piece of free chocolate at the factory and we saw some chocolate being made. It was pretty cool. We saw some seals on Pier 30. Some of the seals were fighting. It was kind of funny how they laid and crawled all over each other. We went to a museum that had video games. Some of them were really old. Jake and I played a hockey game that was kind of like foosball, but a little different. It was pretty fun to play. We payed a quarter to watch a XXX rated movie from the silent era of movies. It was kind of a funny movie, because it was about a secretary and a guy comes in and tries to make an advance on her and she starts beating him up and ends up shooting him. Probably pretty scandalous for the time. We saw a submarine that was used in WWII and sunk 6 Japanese ships in the war. We ate at a nice restaurant in Fisherman's Warf. Jake had shrimp and I ate salmon and we had calamari (it was the first time I had it.) I wasn't a huge fan of calamari, but I think it's better than shrimp. On our way home we made a quick stop at the Oakland Temple Visitors Center and took pictures in front of the temple. It was a fun day. San Francisco was a nice town to visit, but I would never want to live there.

We Made It!

We left Monday afternoon to move to California. We got about 5 miles on the freeway, and our red car overheated. We have a slight leak in the radiator and we usually add water to it every once in a while. Earlier that day I had the oil changed and we thought that they checked the radiator fluid and added to it. Well, it turns out they must not have, so we added what little water we had to the radiator, and at the next exit, we went to a farm house and was able to add more water and cool the car down. We didn't have any more problems with the car after that. We stayed the night in Reno and got to Dublin, California yesterday afternoon. Our apartments are pretty nice. We got a two bedroom for some reason, so if anyone wants to come visit us, we have plenty of room. We wouldn't have to crowd too much. They made a mistake with our furniture, so we only have twin beds in our apartment, but that should be fixed soon. We like our apartments. Jake's first day of selling is today, so hopefully he has lots of success! The Waterford - Where we are living

Sunday Stroll

Yesterday was such a beautiful day, Jake and I went on a little stroll behind his parents house. It was a difficult hike, because it was straight up a steep hill, but beautiful. We went to an old abandoned mine and then to the top of a peak behind the house. We got to see a beautiful view of the valley and of American Falls resevior. By the old abandoned mine (It's caved in so there isn't much there.

New Car!

So we didn't want to drive our truck to California because it would be SUPER expensive, so we decided to buy another car that gets better gas milage and leave the truck in Pocatello and drive our two cars out to California. We bought a 2003 Acura TL type S. It has remote start, DVD player and a screen in the visor, and Navi. We love it!
