In the Car and Waiting for Daddy

Tean exhausted in the car on our way down to Vegas.

On our way down to Vegas, we decided to spend our first night in Cedar City with Jake's aunt and uncle.  On the way down there, we stopped in Scipio, Utah so that Jake could go to Priesthood Meeting.  The boys and I went and played for a bit in a park that was right by the church.  Tean had fun playing with the baby.

After playing for a while in the park, we went to a gas station because I had to buy something and I had promised Tean an ice cream to eat while daddy was at priesthood.  While at that gas station, we noticed a petting zoo across the street.
It was closed, but we could still see some of the animals, and they had a zebra!  Tean also got to feed a pony and a donkey.  After Jake was done, we headed to his aunt's house and got their late and enjoyed some sleep!

Hill Air Force Base Museum

Earlier this month, Jake had a conference in Las Vegas, so the kids and I decided to go with him.  We left a few days early and decided to make a vacation of it.
On our way down we stopped at the Hill Air Force Base Museum.  I grew up right by it and I had never gone.
It was pretty cool.
They had a lot of different kinds of airplanes.
Tean loved it.
He loved seeing all the airplanes and there was a place there for kids where he could fly a plane on the computer.
It is definitely a place where we will go again, and it was great because it was free!

Tean's Prayers

I love to hear Tean pray now that he is thinking of his own things to pray about.  Here are parts of his prayers over the last few months.

"Please bless Heavenly Father.  Thank you that Santa could bring me my table and chairs for my room. Please bless Halloween so it can get here faster.  Please bless Christmas so it can get here faster.  Please bless trick-or-treating so it can get here faster.  Please bless Sunday so it can get here faster. (this was just yesterday so he still has a ways to wait for all of it except Sunday)."

"Please help me to not pick my nose so it won't bleed."

"Please help me and my daddy remember to go outside and find a stick to make a bow and arrow." (after a couple of nights of this, we got the hint and helped him make a bow and arrow.)

"Please bless that me and daddy can go fishing with Cole and his daddy."

"Please bless the monster's in Brody's (his friend) room that he can kill them."

"Please bless that Brody won't move." (His friend is going to be moving soon)

"Thank you that me and daddy could make a shield."

"Please bless Roxy (our dog) that she won't throw up in my room."

I wish I could remember more, but he is so sweet and sincere in what he prays for, I love it.

Tean Playing Soccer

This Spring we signed Tean up for soccer.  Ever since one of our friends gave him a soccer shirt, he has been wanting to play soccer, so we signed him up. A couple of weeks ago his soccer coach called about practice.  He was SOO excited.  He couldn't wait for the day he could go play soccer.  We were out of town the week of his first practice, but the next week we went and he loved it.  Even when practice was over, he still wanted to play.
That Saturday he had his first game.  The other team was a lot faster than his team and scored a lot more goals, but Tean's team did score two goals, and Tean scored one of them!  A girl on the other team and he were running, Tean was kicking the ball towards the goal and when the ball was almost to the goal the girl kicked it in, but it was counted for Tean because he was right there with her kicking the ball too.  It was pretty cold at the game because it was at 8:30 in the morning, but Tean still had a lot of fun!

Easter

On Easter morning, the Easter bunny came!  Tean looked all over the house for the eggs, and then he went downstairs and found that the Easter bunny hid them down there.

He had a great time looking around for the eggs and for his Easter basket.  He finally found his basket hiding behind the couch.
After church, Jake's parents and brother and his family came over for Easter dinner and an Easter egg hunt.  Tean loved being able to hunt for more Easter eggs and candy.

Tean found the golden egg!  It had some money in it.  We loved having family over to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  I am so thankful for the sacrifice that He made for us and I know that through Him we will all be resurrected and will be able to see our loved ones again.

Adventures in China

Jake went to China last month for a week and a half for work.  While he was there he went to some temples that they had there.

This is a beautiful view of the city.  In the distance is Hong Kong.  Jake went into mainland China to Shen Zen.
One evening Jake went to the factory reps house for dinner.  They just had their second baby, a girl.
Jake went to a place where all the Chinese animal years were.  Jake is standing by my year and his year.
This is a view of one of their markets.  It looks a lot like the markets that are in Mexico!

Snake Oil Salesman

In China they have real snake oil salesmen.  They put cut up snakes in some oil, let it sit there for a while and then sell it as a cure all medicine.  In the 1800's in our country there were snake oil salesmen, but in China they still have them!

Back on Fire

While Jake was in China, he went and got a back massage.  They also lit a fire on his back, then put a cup over it and then it suctioned up his skin and left these big welts on his back.  It is supposed to get the toxins out of your body.  He said it didn't feel very good at all, but it was a pretty cool experience!

Food In China

Here is some of the crazy food Jake ate in China.  All the red stuff in the pictures are peppers.  He said that the food is really hot, they use lots of peppers, green onions and garlic.

Yummy alligator tails!

Picking out food for dinner.  You could eat the fish that are swimming by Jake, but he chose some shrimp, stuff that looked like shrimp and another type of seafood.

Kentucky Like Chicken

In China and want some Kentucky Fried Chicken, but don't want to pay the price for KFC?  Just go to Kentucky Like Chicken and enjoy KFC at KLC prices!  Not only do they knock off clothes, purses and electronics in China, they also do knock offs of restaurants too!

Easter Egg Hunt at the Fire Station

On Saturday, we went to the Fire Station here in town for an Easter egg hunt.  Our neighbor is a fire fighter, so they invited us along.
Tean was excited to go look for eggs.  He had lots of fun with his friend.

He got lots of candy, some chalk, free dinner at Texas Roadhouse and a free ice cream at Farrs.

After they had a lunch that had some food from Texas Roadhouse along with potluck from everyone else.  We had a great time!
