BYU-Utah Rival Game

On Saturday, November 24, 2007 was an amazing day. BYU beat Utah, 17-10! Jake and I had season tickets, so we got to go to the game. When we woke up in the morning, you could smell football in the air, especially a BYU victory. Many people picked it to be a close game, with Utah coming out on top. It came down to the end, like it has for the past few years. BYU was down 9-10 with 1:30 to go in the game. BYU dominated the whole game, but let a touchdown get by them. Max Hall got sacked, and before they knew it, BYU had a 4th and 18. They had to convert it in order to win. Everyone in the stadium were on their feet. Hall threw a pass to Collie and converted the first down. A few plays later, Unga ran it in for the touchdown and the stadium went wild. Here's the last play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiByBYE753s For the second year in a row, BYU came back from an almost impossible situation to beat the Utes and put them in their place. What a game!

Thanksgiving with the Moons

Friday morning we did the Black Friday thing, and got a good deal on a computer. We didn't even have to wake up super early. We went to Circuit City at around 11am and there was one last door buster deal available, so we snatched it up.
We had Thanksgiving with my family on Friday. All of my nieces and nephews have grown up so much!! It was fun to get together and see everyone again. It had been awhile since I'd seen some of my family members, so it was fun to catch up with everyone. The best thing about having two Thanksgivings - I got to eat pumpkin pie two days in a row!

Out of Town

So Jake left on Wednesday night to go down to Utah for an alarm class and will be gone until Saturday night. I don't like it when he has to go overnight for business trips. I have a sister whose husband travels every week, and I don't know how she does it. I miss him a lot, but I guess I just have to deal with it. At least he doesn't have to travel a lot for his job. After he takes this class he will be licensed to sell alarms in Utah, so he'll be able to have people sell for him in Utah and Idaho.
GOOD NEWS!! We don't have to move next summer!!! We were going to go to Modesto, CA next summer to sell alarms, but we're not anymore. YEA!!! Jake is just going to sell in Poky, I.F., Blackfoot, and the surrounding areas because he's the only alarm company around and the market here is surprising good. He also has a cell phone store and an electronics store who are going to be dealers for him. I hate moving. Looks like we might stay in one place longer that six months. It will be the first time in our marriage. I wonder how it will be?

Camping Adventure

Last night I got home from work early so Jake and I decided to go camping. We bought some hot dogs and marshmallows to roast and headed up to his parent's house to camp on his parent's land. When Jake was up there a few weeks ago burying their water line, he leveled off a little area to camp. Brandon, who works with Jake, and his three kids came up so Brandon could give his wife some much needed time alone. It was a lot of fun to roast the hot dogs. Roasted hot dogs are the best. I don't know if it's the smoke or the fire or what that makes them taste so good, but it sure beats a hot dog boiled or cooked in the microwave. Well, after the Brandon and his kids left, we went to bed, but the ground wasn't very level. It was really hard too, almost like a rock. We didn't sleep very well, and we were super thirsty. We had dumped all of our water on the fire, not thinking that we might want some to drink. At about 2:30 in the morning, we left and went home to our nice soft bed.

Flat Tire

So on Sunday when Jake and I got out of church, our front passenger tire was low, so Jake said I needed to fill it up the next day before I went to work. Later that day, we decided to go up to his parent's house to pick up a few things. When we were leaving at about 8:00 pm, we were half way home and our tire went flat. We couldn't drive any farther on the flat, so we pulled over and called up our friend Alex to bring out a jack because our jack was broken. Alex and his wife come out and as Jake and Alex were changing the tire, Michelle told about a time when her friend had a flat and the spare was flat too. So, Jake and Alex get the flat fixed and I was going to ride to Alex and Michelle's house with them. Jake started to take off and the spare is as flat as I've ever seen a tire. So Michelle had to take me up to our house to get the truck and we had to leave the car on the side of the road until the next day. We took the tire in to get it fixed and it was ruined. All because of a little nail!

BYU Football and such

Jake and I have season tickets to the BYU games, so we go down each homegame with Jake's parents and his brother. It's exciting to go down and watch the cougars play live. We also don't have to worry about not being able to watch the game because it's on the Mountain. Yesterday we went down for the Colorado State game. It was pretty much a beat down, with BYU winning 35-16. We had to leave Poky at 7 in the morning to beat traffic and make it to the game at noon. After the game we had to pick up Jake's mom's dog at his grandma's house and then we headed home. We stopped in Bountiful to eat at Chipotle's which is kind of funny because we were going to eat some where else, and we were talking about Chipotles and how we should have one up here, and then we drove by one, so we stopped and ate there. We arrived home at around 9 at night, making it a long day. I'll have to get pictures of the game against Eastern Washington and post them. Next game, Thursday November 8 against TCU.

On Halloween I had a work meeting in the morning and we were supposed to dress up. I dressed up as a dragon fly. I bought a fly from fly fishing and tied it on a string and had the string dragging behind me for a draggin' fly (dragon fly!). I thought it was pretty good. I got nominated for most creative costume, but I didn't win. A girl won who dressed up as Miss Snack. I was obviously better than that. We didn't have a whole lot of trick-or-treaters come to our house, but we were ready with some really good candy for those who did come.
On Friday Jake and I went to Red Lobster for their all you can eat shrimp. Jake ate about 175 shrimp and took about another 25 home with him. They brought out 18 different plates of shrimp for him! I didn't go crazy like that with the shrimp because I don't like it, but I had spicy catfish that was really good.
